Royal expert’s blunt prediction for Harry’s next UK visit

Prince Harry will make a trip to the UK at the end of the month for the annual WellChild Awards, it was announced on Wednesday.
While it’s thought the British royal family’s social media posts for the Duke of Sussex’s 40th birthday on Sunday were an olive branch, it remains unclear if Harry will meet with his father, King Charles, during the trip.
Royal expert Hugo Vickers offered a blunt prediction for the 40-year-old’s solo trip, suggesting a meeting – or lack thereof – with the monarch will give the public clues about the family’s fractured relationship.

“If I may put it like this, if the King wishes to see him, he will arrange to see him,” Vickers told The Sun.
“If he doesn’t wish to see him, he’ll be too busy. Simple as that.”
Prince Harry will be in London on September 30 to deliver a speech and an award at the annual event.
King Charles is set to give a speech in Scottish parliament for Holyrood’s 25th anniversary celebration on September 28 and is expected to stay in Scotland for a few days after the event.
But the royal historian – who is the chairman of the Commonwealth Walkway Trust and also was involved in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – believes Harry’s chances of seeing His Majesty are higher than seeing his brother.

“I think it’s much more likely that he’ll have a meeting with the King,” he told the publication.
“I don’t think there’s any particular wish on Prince William’s behalf to see his brother.”
Vickers cited the Prince of Wales and Duke of Sussex’s recent meeting of sorts as proof. The brothers both attended their uncle’s funeral but it’s said they didn’t speak to each other.
It’s understood Prince William’s anger with his younger brother had to do with the publication of Harry’s memoir, Spare, in which he details several personal bombshells, including the pair coming to blows over Harry’s relationship with Meghan.

Since then, Prince Harry said it was his fight against the British press and taking them to court which was “the central piece” to the on-going “rift” with his family.
The Duke of Sussex became the first senior British royal in more than 100 years to appear on the witness stand when he took Mirror Group Newspapers to court last year over allegations of phone hacking and unlawful information gathering.
Harry won his case, ending his four-year legal battle with MGN, but his cases with other tabloid media continue.
